Today’s review is about body care and body positivity! I’m talking about Billie! Billie is a new shaving brand that makes razors and other body products designed for women. I was drawn to Billie not only because of their eye-catching packaging and marketing, but also because of what they stand for. They are a shaving brand that focuses on creating quality, AFFORDABLE shaving products for women.

They emphasize that whether you shave or not, they are there as an option, which is a beautiful statement in regards to body positivity. The brand depicts real women with different shapes and sizes, and different amounts of body hair. I personally shave very infrequently, so it’s nice to see a shave brand that gets real like this. We are often an after-thought when it comes to main stream shaving brands. Not to mention they’re typically more expensive for women, while doing a poor job. Billie is changing that–let’s dive into my experience!

Billie is a memberships service that initially provides you with a razor handle–you can choose from a variety of fun colors. You’ll also receive 2 razor heads with 5 sharp blades, that are surrounded by a 360 charcoal shave soap lining, for easy gliding. There is a cute little magnet that holds your razor, which you can attach to your shower wall, and that’s all for $9! After that, you can choose to receive 4 replacement razor heads once a month, every 2 months, or every 3 months. The fee remains at $9 for those replacement heads. I love that you can change how often you receive your razor heads, because I tend to shave less during the colder months; I opted for shipments every 2 months.

The Razor

The affordability and eco-friendly aspects hit all the right marks for me, so I was happy to find that the performance lived up to my expectations too! I almost went for the Millenial pink “Billie Blush” color, but ended up going with the chill “Cool Blue.” It resembles periwinkle and I’m really loving that color lately. The handle is very sleek, a great length, and easy to hold.

I fell in love with these razor heads guys! Up until my Billie, I had been using a straight edge razor on my lady curves… that’s NO BUENO! Do as I say, not as I do ladies! Those razors are designed for shaving course hair on men’s faces, not for our delicate legs, under arms, or bikini area. The Billie razor heads are SO gentle! I honestly wasn’t sure if I was doing anything because it felt so nice.

The charcoal shave soap lining really gives it some slip and helps it glide along without tugging your skin. I really appreciated that I could move along my curves without having to be too careful–there is mobility where the head attaches to the handle, so it moves with your curves as you shave. Not to mention the lining and 5 blades allow you to get a really close shave without hurting yourself. My skin was left super smooth and hairless after shaving. It also took the hair even longer to grown back, AND it grew back thinner. That’s goals right there.

The Magnet

The magnet was such a great bonus. I hate leaving my razor just sitting on my counter top or in my shower, so it’s nice that you’re able to simply place it on your shower wall. This way it stays dry, away from the water stream, and it’s always ready to go. The magnet comes with some sticky tack for the wall, and a replacement in case you need it. All you have to do is press the magnet onto the sticky on your wall for several seconds, and you should be all set! Just make sure the spot on your wall is clean and dry before applying. My razor has been hanging on the magnet since I got it, and I’ve had no issues with it falling off.

I find it extremely convenient, because there have been so many times where I’ve wanted to shave, but forgot to bring it into the shower with me, so I just kept putting it off. This way, my Billie is right in my face, always there when I need it!

The Shave Cream

Since I’m new to Billie, I figured I’d try one of their body care products. They are all vegan, cruelty free, gluten free, paraben free, sulfate free, non-GMO, and synthetic fragrance free. They have a very affordable lotion and body wash, but because I was shaving, I had to grab their shave cream. I’m used to using hair conditioner for shaving, so I was eager to use a cream specifically for shaving again.

This product contains awesome soothing and natural ingredients like aloe vera, shea butter, vegetable glycerin, olive and grapefruit oil, as well as orange, golden seal, and sage extracts. The cream applies like a conditioner, but has a thick foamy lather when introduced to water. The combination of this and the razor blade lining is heavenly on the skin! I swear since using this combo, I’ve had little to no irritation or razor bumps after shaving, which is a real miracle for me. I’ve tried it on my armpits, legs, and bikini area, and it’s a real MVP!

Billie is a brand I truly trust and support! I can’t think of one negative thing to say about the products I tried, and that’s the truth. For this price point and quality, I can’t recommend this brand enough. Do you have your Billie yet?
